Yesterday we made history in the Goodson household. We went apple pickin. This was a first for 2 out of the 3 of us. Seth and of course Jericho had never been before. (How funny & weird would it be if Jericho was the only one that had gone!) We had a wonderful time. The farm was beautiful. Picking was fun and relaxing. The conversation was enjoyable. The companions couldn't have been any better! I hope this was the begining of a family tradition.
We had perfect apple pickin weather, sunny yet a bit on the chilly side. If it's not a little chilly it doesn't seem right when your pickin your apples. Don't you agree? If it's' not chilly there is no need for apple cider afterwards. Apple cider after apple pickin is a must, in case you were wondering.
One of the best parts of pickin your own apples is that you get to taste test as many apples as you want. They were delicious - just ask Jericho!
I never would have guessed that apple pickin could be so thought prevoking. I couldn't help but wonder about Adam and Eve as we were pickin.
What Eve was thinking as she selfishly plucked the fruit off of the forbidden tree, indulged in it and then daringly handed it to her husband. What thoughts went through Adam's head as he stood idoly by not saying or doing anything until he was handed the forbiden fruit. Only then did he take action by eating of it.
It's crazy to think that one little apple and one major choice brought sin into this world.
